Bulk edit & delete
Change or delete many Firestore documents at once — a selection, or everything matching a filter — with a preview and undo.
Bulk edit and delete are part of Firedeck Pro.
Choose the documents
In a collection, tap Select. Tick documents one by one, or choose Select all matching to act on every document that matches the current filter — not just the ones loaded on screen.
Firedeck collects the full list of matching documents before it changes anything, so a filter over 10,000 documents really means 10,000 documents.
Edit fields
Choose Edit fields and add one or more changes:
- Set a field to a typed value,
- Remove a field,
- Rename a field (the value moves to the new name in the same write),
- Increment a number,
- set a server timestamp,
- add to or remove from an array.
A preview shows a few documents before and after the change, and how many documents it will touch.
Delete
Choose Delete. Deleting 25 documents or more asks you to type the collection name first. Subcollections under the deleted documents are not deleted — Firestore keeps them.
Safety
- Each document is saved on your device before it changes, so the whole operation can be undone.
- If someone else edits a document while the job runs, Firedeck leaves that document as it is and tells you.
- Writes run with your Google account’s access. Security Rules don’t apply to admin access, so check the filter before you start.
